‘Lus Na Greine’ Preschool at Cobh Family Resource Centre follows the Aistear Early Childhood Curriculum Framework, as recommended by the National Council for Curriculum & Assessment.
Over the last year our preschool style has begun to move towards a more educational structure designed to prepare your children for Primary School, while retaining the best parts of the High Scope preschool approach, which promotes learning in a play-based environment. This combination of teaching styles provides wonderful preparation for primary school in the future, while at the same time encouraging the pre-schoolers to get messy and have fun learning!
Activities and projects such as art and crafts and other sensory exercises are recorded for Parents on weekly activity sheets, and during the warmer, drier months of the year kiddies enjoy the spacious garden area and climbing frames available onsite.
Children must be toilet trained and aged 2 yrs, 9 months or over to join.
The preschool is open to all families in the community. We offer qualifying parents reduced childcare costs through the childcare subvention scheme. We also offer the ECCE childcare programme which provides a free two year preschool place if your child qualifies under the age criteria.
For more information about the preschool please feel free to pop into the centre some morning, call 021 481 6103 to talk to Leanne our Preschool Leader or simply complete your details below, click send, and we'll give you a call back.
